Hi,

This Dahlia has grown into quite a lovely creation - does anyone know what causes such a split in colour here?

Not sure but curious as to what folk say. There is one flower on one of my Moonfire dahlias (orange/yellow) that has a pink petal or two. Never seen it happen before.

Wobbly genetic pigment code can do that. Sadly it is usually not constant so taking a cutting from that stem may not result in the plant producing that effect in future. You could get a pure white or a pure red flower next time round.
