    What sneaky? Moi?  The rules say nothing about growing from seed, in fact they encourage any technique  ;)

    Reminds me of the time I entered a Scooby snack competition. I won by building mine using a block of butter, block of cheese, a whole pork pie, topped with crisps between two slices of bread. In retrospect, I should have used pickle, added more crisps and made it a Ploughman’s. The only other entrant said mine couldn’t count because it wasn’t edible. I pointed out, the rules didn’t state it needed to be edible 🤣

    Good for you @Skylarks !  I was told (many, many years ago) that computer programmers were all a bit 'kinky' and not quite in step with the world, this from a non-tech manager.

    Like so many attributes that caused me grief in my youth 'kinky' has morphed into lateral thinking and is now quite the thing in some circles. Not everyone admires ingenuity though Skylarks, doubt the loser would champion lateral thinking  :D

  • I always think the people who spend more time figuring out what the rules DON'T say should get more credit that those who spend time on what they do say...

    Maybe that says more about me than the rule setters  :D

    Nothing wrong with checking for holes @strelitzia32, saves falling in later on!

    As far as I’m concerned, I was following the rules! I’m just lazy and focused on the fasted and easiest way to achieve the end goal 😁

    @herbaceous, I’m imagining you on New Year’s Day 2021, go ta-da, a fully ripened tomato 🤣

    That is certainly some imagination you've got @Skylarks :D   But then, maybe I'm just messing with you......

    @strelitzia32 was encouraging a degree of psychological warfare, perhaps I'm ahead of the game [evil, cackling laugh]  or more likely not!

    You could always try feeding them on gin to stunt their growth. An old Victorian recipe
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    Are you sure that isn't an old Victorian (temperance) wives tale @B3 ?  Anyway, they won't get fed very often, might make them grow  :*
