Why feed tomatoes?

    I think there should be a "smallest tomato" challenge next year. Winner is the person with the smallest plant, in the smallest pot, as measured when there is one fully ripe fruit. 
    I'm going to try tomatoes for the first time next year and will be entering that competition @strelitzia32 :)

    Clearly we'll need some rules then!

    Perhaps the winner is decided by adding together the maximum width and height of the plant, when there is a fully ripe tomato of any size.

    That way a specific miniature variety won't necessarily win by default, and it will be down to the luck and skill of the grower!

    I use DIY self-watering planters. This is an old photo but I still have them and use them. Wicking mat through a hole in the bottom of the pot and seed tray under them. Good for 2-3 days, depending on the weather.

    @B3 No, there's a good thick piece of wicking mat (capillary matting normally used for young seedlings).
