I have daylilies in dappled shade and they flower while my other daylilies in sun don't, which really surprises me.
Morning to 1 pm could be over 6 hours of sun which counts as full sun, depending on how early it gets sun... it could be only 5 hours which would still be good.
I agree that crocosmias or hesperanthas will be fine with almost no sun.
Agapanthus, I am not sure, I have it in a spot with half-day sun but it's afternoon sun. Last year, I had it temporarily in a pot in full shade, completely neglected, and it still flowered, but maybe it wouldn't work long-term. I would say most plants will be OK with shade but won't do as well as they would do in sun. It depends on how do you define "cope".

Thanks! Yes this spot gets sun from first thing, so well over 6 hours. It's just not the hottest afternoon sun. I'll give daylilies a try and maybe add in some of the others depending how many bare spots I have left to fill!

@jayne10b do you think Agapanthus would cope with only half a day of sun?

I know you're looking for foliage, but it's just worth noting.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
