I had to cook something that required wrapping in vine leaves once. I couldn't find any in the shops so used bacon instead. Nature's other clingflim.
I've been finding one a night generally at the moment but managed two this evening. I always think it's important to get the late season ones or there's a chance they'll hibernate and get an early start on egg laying next year.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I'm out now. It's just rained for a few minutes but it's still a lovely warm evening.
I thought I saw a couple tonight but they were flies sleeping and a couple of moths darting around.
Not found any for a couple of weeks now. I've either got them all or they know my timetable and they're coming out when I've gone to bed!!
I'll wait a couple more weeks to let the last of my pollinator plants die down and then I'll use the bug clear stuff.
I walked around and around the aisles looking for the last thing I needed. Couldn't find it so asked a partner.
"Excuse me. Do you sell vine weevils?!"
I was mortified!
"Sorry, I've got them on the brain!"
Luckily she understood!!
They didn't have any vine leaves anyway (got them in M&S).
I think it was a sign
I've not found any for weeks. Came out to put the recycling in the bin and stepped on one accidentally.
Sat down to turn on my torch and saw another walking along the floor *squish*!
So now I'm still outside desperate to find out where they've been hiding for the last fortnight......
