Cheapest place to buy topsoil

My newish next door neighbour is in the process of having his drive block paved,it's difficult to explain but the last time it was done in a strange way and  and a bit of our garden was taken by an old neighbour, well the new blocking has just given us back that space but now there is a large void beyond the new edge of the pavers(It was hidden by overhanging large Hydrangeas that.I need to fill that now,so I'm wondering where would be the best place to buy topsoil?

Check out Gumtree for free-on-collection topsoil locally; you'll need some rubble sacks to fill. Otherwise, Wickes do sell it.

Thanks I'm a non driver, gardening has proved to be awkward for the non driver.I'm not near a Wickes but will have to see if I can get a cab from Homebase if they have some,a taxi driver gave me his card last week and his taxi is designed for wheelchairs so he has lots of space.

Be careful with “cheap”. You might be importing marestail or even Japanese knot weed. Given how expensive it is to transport soil I would be looking for a local supplier getting recommendations on nextdoor.com

Thanks,I didn't notice delivery mentioned the  first time I looked, that's good I will work out how much I need, the delivery charge was little more than the taxi fare, and it's not a great time to use taxis

I have used cpa horticulture in the past but it depends on how much you need.
B and M sell it when they have it In stock and my local offered delivery as well, as do many  local garden centres

Thanks,I shall have a proper look when the builders have gone.B&M gets mentioned by so many people,we nearly had one coming to town but it didn't happen in the end.I'm annoyed that I missed out on cheap bark from Lidl last week too, that was half the price of the other shops

Depends how much you need. I've used compostdirect who deliver free (we don't have a car either), but you need to be buying quite a lot!

Maybe worth mentioning to the builders? Depending what other projects they have on the go, they might have topsoil to get rid of (no guarantee that it'd be any good though).
