Evening all. Another stunning picture Hazel. What a lovely combination of those two plants. The colours really complement one another.

    My pictorial offering is this:
This is one of my Lophophora. It is not as spectacular as some of my other plants but it has a diminutive charm. It also has a darker side as it produces psychoactive alkaloids - something called peyote. I have two of these and I had no idea that they had these properties.

Hazel it reminds me of one of those Chinese pincushions:

Evening all - no we haven’t been paddling LB. Been at MIL’s all day helping her to clear the shed. Took 2 car loads to the tip including 2 sets of rotten wooden step ladders, 5 ancient large gas cylinders (some with gas in) and a small and a large drum of engine oil - probably about 30 years old judging from the state of the containers. Fortunately the tip has facilities to dispose of these potentially hazardous items safely.

Also got rid of a significant number of ancient gardening tools. All blunt, rusty, and with insecure heads and far heavier than modern tools. I did rescue a smaller border spade, some edging shears I think will clean and sharpen up (quite nicely weighted and balanced) and an ancient daisy grubber. (Been thinking about buying one of those this year.) Also some half-size propagater lids and some blow lamps which I just couldn’t bear to see go to the tip. Similarly a circa 60 year old Esso Blue Paraffin can. What on earth will I do with them? Gawd knows - may have to build a shrine to FIL in the shed!

Yvie - I do hope the new drops help your eyes - very uncomfortable for you.

Rubee & Hazel - beautiful clemmies.

May have to go & find some plants to look at or do some painting tomorrow. All the museums, churches, houses and other places of interest I was hoping to visit are still closed☹️
