@London_to_Latimer your brief (mostly green, splashes of colour, screen still visible) cries out for an alpina or macropetala! Of course, I'd also have some later clematis on there too, but then I would have clematis on every surface if I was allowed!

@mikeymustard, I was drawn to both those and the viticella types too. Unfortunately, most of the ones I liked were out of stock 😞
We have C. Queen Mother clambering up the side of our pergola ... it’s a gorgeous clem ... only in her third year and making a great display without too much ‘heavy leafage’.
