BenCotto.. perhaps you stop reading them then and go see to your cats.. If you don’t like our thread on cat fouling deterrent then scroll past.. Simple!!
I see very little hatred for cats on these threads, that is just a device used by those owners who are defending their own irresponsible actions.
Then you are looking through your own lens.
I'm very sorry you've had a bad time, but they are just animals, they don't hate you, or anybody else.
See what you did there?
I'm a qualified veterinary nurse that worked at a major London animal charity. Involved in the re-homing of literally hundreds of cats that got into trouble free roaming.
I'm also an ecologist.
It is not about cats, it is about irresponsible cat ownership.
It is a direct consequence of human action on the environment by purchasing a pet and then allowing it to free roam - taking no responsibility for the impacts on people, environment, other pets, ecosystems.
Read the book I recommended. You may then be informed enough to have a different view.
GemmaJF well said on your posts and obviously qualified and knowledgeable.. Going to get the book you mentioned.. Sounds good reading.. Just wish the selfish irresponsible cat owner ones would read it too..

They won't, they are in constant denial. It will be a long road to change in the UK because of the issues highlighted by @wild edges which are entirely accurate.
Elsewhere the world is changing. Unfortunately the issue will not be addressed in the UK until we are shamed by the current inaction of government.
The book is very well worth the read, particularly in the UK context, in how it sheds light on the RSPB stance of willful misinformation.
Let's just be clear - these are not wild animals, but people have traded on this ridiculous notion that they aren't 'domesticated'. These are animals which people have made a conscious decision to bring into their home. [if only they kept them in their home, it would be fine ] Once you do that, that animal is your responsibility, not everyone else's.
If I get a snake, it's my responsibility to see that it's correctly housed and cared for, not allowed to roam around eating everything it fancies, because 'that's what they do'. Cats are the same.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I don't need to read any book to know that I will never find the disturbing comments directed at animals and humans on here acceptable.
You don't even know what my opinion is on cats roaming, I haven't stated it anywhere.
I make no apologies for repeating myself on my thread and if this annoys some cat owners then that’s their problem not mine.. I personally don’t give a damn about their opinions and views unless they’re constructive and in agreement that free roaming cats are a pain in the arse and are a nuisance and should be stopped..
There are some responsible cat owners who have taken the responsibility and attitude that they made the decision to own a cat(s) and give it/them a home and to take care of them and keep them safe..
Those same responsible cat owners have also made the decision not to allow their cats to freely roam around outside of their property and land to destroy, damage and foul on other people’s property and land.. I admire them that they keep their cats in the home or allow them outside in their own gardens etc on a lead or whatever so that they don’t freely roam around elsewhere..
The other day I observed a cat spraying over someone’s recycling boxes/bags.. not nice and not acceptable at all.. in fact it’s extremely un sociable.. Again this comes down to the selfish irresponsible attitude of I have a cat but don’t want it to foul in my garden or over my property/items..but instead I will let it roam around freely like Ferrell cats..
