Proper old-fashioned orange single calendula.

Why can't I get them? I buy a packet of officionalis with a picture of orange flowers on the front and they turn out yellow.
Single this year , doubles last year.
Is there a specific name for the ones I'm looking for?

In London. Keen but lazy.

I ended up having to buy doubles as I couldn't find singles but there's always less choice here in seeds.

I wonder why yours have turned out yellow though, not very good is it? Was it a known seed supplier?

Can't help with seeds, I did sow some from Chilterns but I was a bit late so still waiting on flowers here, they were at least sold as the 'original, single orange' variety.

    There is also:

This lot do sell trays of 6 plants which they say are the single, orange ones so if you don't mind the cost of £9 + postage for annuals, maybe enquire to try and ascertain for certain they are what you're looking for and then saving the seed?

Probably a bit of a faff but since the seed suppliers don't seem to have them might be worth a shot depending on how desperate you are to have some?

From seed, or plant? I have loads from seed (they look white to me, however I'm sure someone will correct me that they're actually tyrannosaur egg beige or something). I'll go find the packet later.

I could only find double whites in seeds. Lots of single pinks, but no single whites.

@Dovefromabove. That's just what I want but all the sellers show that colour. I'm going to give it a go. They're not expensive.
@Owlbear . Chilterns are worth a try too.
I'm sure it's the seeds. I doubt it's the growing conditions.
The reason  really want them is , they're the first plant I ever noticed as a child. They were growing down an area ( north Londoners will know what I mean) . The only other thing  growing locally was privet  and a weed with white flowers.

@B3  I went there a couple of years ago and they definitely had the old fashioned orange flowers then. 🤞
