What a wonderful feature to have @Hostafan1. There must be so much wildlife in there and also on your plot.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

    thanks @AuntyRach.
I never forget how lucky I am to be here. ( even when I'm filthy dirty and wet through when the waders have a leak )

I always love seeing pictures of your wonderful 'pond' and garden @Hostafan1. As we are also struggling with the bulrushes in our (very much smaller) pond may I ask how you removed yours. Did you pull them or cut them - and what do you do with them all once they are out?

I got on and pulled them out, they come out quite easily when submerged , but not so "in mud" . They have massive long rhizomes spreading out into the water which need to come out too.
Our "lake" is , technically , a dam and I dump it down the far side of the bank

    Looks beautiful.

I do always wonder how anyone manages to maintain these size areas though... My garden area isn't as big as this but I can barely keep on top of all the jobs, some weeks it's bare minimum of watering and fruit/veg maintenance. I watch the sowing and planting dates on the calendar fly by (it's ok to sow winter cabbages now, right  ;) . I think the same when I see Longmeadow or any other large private garden - even with a team of gardeners, how does anyone keep on top of all the tasks. Just deadheading must take a month... Fortunately woodland takes care of itself  :)

Apart from very occasional help from Husband, it's just me who looks after it here.

I know what you mean, I give thanks everyday for the privilege of being able to live here and for the forward thinking of my dad.

Ive just had my daughter and family here for cake and coffee,  son in law walks around the garden, he would love to live here but Karen likes the town.

No, don't want any riff raff milling about the place. Happy to show folk round when they ask though.
    You'd be most welcome @Mary370
