Moving a shrub

  • I have found a photo of it in flower. Not a great photo but it may help confirm? Thanks for all your suggestions.

    Certainly doesn’t look like our Amelanchier.

  • No, it doesn’t form berries after the flowers. So, if it is an exochorda, now how do I save it?! When in the best time to give it a hard prune? I didn’t know whether it was best to do it now or in the autumn? I thought cutting it back may help with the stress of moving but maybe I should have cut it back and then moved it. Too late for that! We got a really good rootball out with it. 

    If it doesn’t survive then again least I know we tried!
