Strange growth on the Acer

    I`m not sure why it happens but my tree had the same problem until it has matured.  I believe it is insufficient water and strong winds.  I cut mine off and had no further issues.

    Mine is 7/8 years old, I've moved it to a less windy corner with the least sunlight but it's still producing sparse branches. When did you cut yours back. What time of year?

    Remove them now if you wish.  I cut bits off mine on a fairly regular basis, keeps it looking good.. Winter or summer makes no difference ;)
