Euphorbia’s love them or loathe them?

The title says it all really. What do you think of euphorbia’s? Personally I think they’re an absolute joy, moreso at this time of year. I’ve got a few different varieties in the garden - love euphorbia polychroma in particular. My OH on the other hand would rather see the back of them 🙄

I love them.

We only have three in this garden ... so far.

We have Blackbird, martinii
and mellifera.

Euphorbia are an amazing group of plants...endlessly fascinating.
Anything in the world that is a bit weird and wonderful often turns out to be Euphorbia sp.

I adore them. I only have two so far, but will be adding more. The zingy lime of the ones I have really lifts the borders. They look great close up and from a distance, and the flowers/bracts last so long. So much bang for your buck! I hope to grow some Euphorbia Oblongata from seed for next year

I like them too. I was just looking today at the little one I have here. It's looking good, and the bracts are lovely - acid yellowy/green. A great foil for other plants

I'm hopeless though - can't remember which one it is.

I have robbiae in a difficult dry spot , that gets sun from about 12 for a couple of hours. I also have purpurea in a moist shaded spot, they are new this year and so far I really like them. I'm going to get some others.

I have an evolving relationship with them. From hate, through respect and seeing their place in garden design to something close to love but not fully there yet.

Love them in the spring. Just keep an eye on them .. I'd say two years and then hoik them out. There's always a replacement lurking in your garden.
They look great as underplanting until you realise they're sucking the life out of their neighbours. Don't be tempted.

I loathe them - the limey types, at least.

But I recently encountered a tender Frost type, which is very intriguing. Much more my kind of thing.

E.myrsinites a lovely spiky alpine.
E.palustris looks great in my bog garden.
So many lovely plants.

The limeyness is what I like about them. That and the grey foliage when you've chopped off all the finished flowers.
