  • I use Doff at the rate of 25ml to 6ltrs of water and it hardly colours it?

    When I lived beside the seaside I used to collect the seaweed washed up at high water mark, which I composted, clematis loved a top dressing of it straight from the beach, they threw lots of roots into it!
    I use the liquid stuff, but I wouldn't bet my life on it, unlike the solid seaweed, lettuce and brassicas thrived on it!

    I had to move a rose recently and read about soaking the rootball with seaweed mix after digging and before replanting . Rose is doing fine.
    East Dorset, new (to me) rather neglected garden.

    On that point (the 'harvested seaweed' point I mean)... has anyone on here had success using seaweed as a plant surround to deter slugs?
