Can you recommend a pair of general purpose good quality secateurs please?

  • I use Felco 8s and have found nothing else to match them, certainly nothing else to last as long. The other thing about Felco is that you can have them competely renovated if necessary.   My husband dropped his into the compost heap...I didn't discover them until turning the heap into another bin months later, by which time they were very rusty and barely recognisable.  I sent them off to Leicester and they were returned a couple of weeks  later sharpened and restored with new parts, new paint ...not quite as new but not far off and for much less than the cost of buying a new pair.  In my view Felcos are a worthwhile investment.

    That reminds me of Trigger's well maintained broom.

    "I've had this same pair of Felcos for the past twenty years. In that time, I've only changed the blades five times, the handles twice, the spring three times,..."

    It makes me chuckle every time.
