I bought one of the cheaper Felco's for small hands a few years ago but didn't like them much at all. Happier with my Wilkinson Sword ones.

Felco all the way here - have no 2 and no 5 ...... both very comfy for a small lady’s hand 😀😀😀

Felco 2 and 6 here. Lost the 2, bought a 6, found the 2, result. The 2 are over 20 years old, I sort of service them every year and sharpen blade as necessary.

Sounds like Felco is very much the most loved brand but I am very confused by the myriad of models they offer. Who knew one needed that many types of secateurs?

    Do I get a prize? :)
Strangely what I actually use is https://www.gardenersworld.com/reviews/secateurs/bypass-secateurs/darlac-expert-bypass-dp1030a-secateurs-review/ which came in at no.2 on the list BenCotto linked to. They don't get the punishment my partner's felco 2s get so I don't know if they'd be as long-lived but they offer spares. I did a comparative review when I 1st got them but I can't find it at the mo

I hate the Gardener's World product reviews. They always mark some models down for some features and then ignore the same features on another model. They never test or rate the steel for durability etc and they never do proper side by side tests to see how products really compare. With Felco I know I'll be able to get any spare part easily but that doesn't seem to factor in to their ratings compared to tools that don't seem to offer spares at all.
If I was buying a tool for life I'd get the Felco 2 with the leather belt pouch. The only thing I don't like about the Felco is the fiddly safety catch and you don't need to use it if you have the pouch so it can stay locked open.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I have Wilkinsons Sword secateurs not knowing much about this sort of thing I got a pack of two Anvil and pruner for £15. To me they work fine but time will tell but, who knew there where so many types

One thing that irks me about GW product reviews is the bunching of the results. Often most products score between 16 and 18 out of 20. With Which reviews (and there wasn’t one for secateurs, I checked) the methodology is clear and you can filter results to highlight traits important to you.

Like most magazines they're really 'infomercials'. At least they didn't try to push the c.£150 Japanese ones like a well known broadsheet did in their sunday mag!
