As I've said before, there can be a lot of variation in the colour of Heucheras foliage, especially if exposed to the sun.
Please visit my garden site at the H. 'Chocolate ruffles' page and have a look at those photos displaying quite different colours for the same cultivar!
  • thank you both for the replies. Basically I’m worrying about nothing 😂

I love chocolate ruffles. It’s on the list  :D

Heuchera Thomas new this year has nice big flowers but in my windy garden they have a tendency to blow over.

Few heucheras cope with sun but almost all heucheras are happy in the shade. ;)
Which cultivars do you have in mind?
Normally the lighter Heuchera do better in part to full shade
The darker Heuchera are normally more suited to part shade to full sun imo

I have just bought a load of Chocolate Ruffles and they are disturbingly purple at the moment, which was not the idea at all. They look most like your first photo @Papi Jo . I'm glad to know they can change impressions over time. There's nothing chocolately about them now. More like neon fuchsia.
  • @Treeface It looks very much like it. Are the leaves bumpy underneath? I'd cut all the leaves off and isolate it from your other heucheras, possibly even lifting and temporarily potting it. First time I had it, I only removed the affected leaves but it just kept spreading to the others and then infected all of my other heucheras 😞

@treeface shame because it's so pretty as well. Which one is that? Hope you can save it!
