  • So, the next instalment if what we’ve done. Cutting back and seeing what we have:



    This was after the brambles had all been hacked back in the top 3rd of the garden. Still lots of roots in the ground but when we bought it you couldn’t walk anywhere past the bin as it was 5 feet high with thorny brambles. 



    We then took down a couple of the wildly overgrown shrubs and a tree. Getting rid of all the cuttings was quite a job. With hindsight I’d have got a shredder for the smaller ones for mulch but it would have been a massive job.

    It looks a massive job anyway, so well done to get as far as you have done. That's a beautiful view at the back. A strimmer would do a good job of keeping the grass shorter then a regular mow and you would be surprised how tidy it then looks. I suspect from the mound right at the back and the fact that the brambles were concentrated there that underneath might have been a compost heap - here's hoping anyway!
