Insect ID please



Hi Please can anyone let me know what this beautiful breastie is? Theres about 5 or 6 of them flitting about on my astrantias and catmint, they are very small, less than an inch and very fast so difficult to photo clearly. I've never noticed them before but I'm now spending a lot more time in the garden for obvious reasons!

    Agree with Dove - they can be found on a range of plants:

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Thanks Dove and Bob, just looked at the link and yes, that's it. I have some small herb beds nearby so there must be lots of stuff they like! They are such pretty little things. No sign of them today as its freezing cold here, such a difference to yesterday when I took the photo.
