Oregano moth?

Has anyone any idea as to what this little fella is?
I've got a concrete planter with mostly oregano and I see lots of these little moths on them during the summer months.
Around the same time I get lots of little white dots appearing on the leaves and I was wondering if there's a connection.

    I get loads on my wild marjoram.  I thought they were butterflies!

    Cheers DW - sounds like they're the culprit. Guess I'll have to continue sharing it with them. Oregano pops up all over the place here and they don't seem to visit it in the garden - so I'll stick with the garden oregano and they can have the pot oregano.
    Never seen any on my mint though

    We get lots of them on the mint and the wild marjoram which grows all over the place here ... they never seem to do any harm that I can see and they're pretty little things .... and presumably food for the bats that swoop around the garden in the evenings. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Day flying moths so the bats shouldn't get them, though I've had bats flying about in day time over the last couple of days

    Just saw the first one today! Summer's nearly here.
    It wasn't on the marjoram- but close by

    Just watering and found many of these beautiful little moths. I originally thought that they were butterflies because it was daytime.  I now know better so thanks for all the info.  I have much wild oregano all over the garden and not much mint. So fascinating to discover something new.
