Only very occasionally - when they get so stiff with mud, they can practically stand up by themselves!

I found an old cookery  book circa 1960.
    This modern cooker looks lethal

    Some nice recipes,though😝

Some excellent advice on food presentation

Also, for a ladies' bridge party, you must ensure  that there are plenty of cigarettes  and ash trays  within easy reach
There is also a recipe for racially offensive  cakes you might wish to make for a children's  party

How long before the interest is so low that the banks  start to charge us for storing our money😠

Horray for my fixed rate mortgage :|
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I remember when the mortgage rate went up two or three times in one day. Those were the days!

Not long after we bought our house, I think it went from somewhere around 10% to not far short of 15% in less than a year. Now that we can afford to have some savings .... :(

Forgot to take my morning glory in last night. They're not best pleased😕. The tomatoes didn't seem too bothered though.

Huh, watched weather late BBC, woman said, watch out you gardeners in the South East possibility of frost, 2-3d overnight, mad scramble to get in tomato plants, beans, peas, bananas, hanging baskets, etc etc, went down to 10c!!  Thats my grump for today, mortgage rate, people complain now, back in 1983 whe my son was born, we lived in a 2 bedroom maisonette, not a massive house, it was 12%, in a year 16%, I had 4 jobs on the go just to keep the roof over our heads, had to add on a lot of extra years, then we moved from Surrey, only 10 miles to Wst Sussex, managed to buy a 3 bed ex authority house, for the same price.  1988, was worth £100k, a year late (ex Hubby tried to kill me) was repossessed by building society sold for £64k
