Lyn, Hubby wanted to get into the drink chiller, it has a sliding glass door, she was stocking the shelves in there, he was just being polite and waiting for her to finnish. The staff in there dont want to pass you anything, they cant (wont) get that close, except when they are all either side by side nattering, or outside having a fag in a little tight cluster.
Yesterday it drizzled on and off all day. Today we had a hailstorm. I stood in the greenhouse until it stopped. Then I dug a hole for the courgettes. Still bone dry. I'm spending more time watering than planting.
Washing machines! Ours has decided not to play anymore when in the middle of a wash and full of water. Fine, I know the drill. Clean the filter, which means water, water everywhere.
Disconnected power and water, wrestled it out of its slot so I could get at it and safely let the water flow out all over the lower tiled annex floor. Not the filter, but, on the up side, the floor is now exceptionally clean.
Go on the internet to find a man who can. Nearest is 20kms away in La Roche. Make an appointment for Tuesday morning after confirming that yes, it is plugged in and yes the water is connected and yes, the filter is clean and no, I can't take the machine to them.
OH's verdict? Bloody hell, he says. They'll charge us 50€ just for the call out.
Tough, nobody listed nearer than that. Just wait till we're told it's too old to repair. Must be 5 or 6 years old now so not convinced I've had my money's worth yet.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
When the girls were little, I was told my machine was old when it was about 6 or 7 years old @Obelixx. I've never bought an expensive one since.
I'm beyond furious about what I just heard on the news on the radio. People hiding in vans/cars to get across to islands - to play golf. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-52947630 Bad enough when I read earlier that they've had to close the roads in and around Loch Lomond because people won't stay away. Needless to say- locals have had to deal with the litter they leave behind These people are despicable.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
