It looks great, well done. But, as your garden is quite small and you want room for your children to play, I wouldn't plant big shrubs like choisya, ceanothus or cotoneaster. Is it in sun or shade? There are clematis to fit both. I would plant clematis and tall, slim perennials, but sun or shade would affect your choice.

Tracleospermum jasminoides? Spelling? Evergreen, small star shaped deliciously fragrant flowers. No tempting berries for tiny fingers. No thorns. Twiner rather than climber. Give it some trellis or lastic covered fencing to rable through. Maintainance free, just keep it trimmed tothe height and depth you want.
