How do you solve the problem of the white rendered wall?

We have a white rendered boundary wall which unfortunately will just never stay white. I've repainted it three times but to no avail and it really is just an eyesore.

My latest thought is to put in a hedge or climbers to hide as much of the wall as possible. As you can see I have a red robin in the corner which hasn't fared too badly in the clay soil but not sure if it will be too big/overbearing to plant this the whole way across. I also have two little ones, one of whom loves to eat anything her hands can touch so I will need to beat that in mind as well.

Any suggestions of plant or alternative approaches would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Thanks .  I did consider that but my thoughts were that to avoid similar staining it would have to be quite a dark grey or black as you suggest which would dominate the garden

Black wont dominate. it will recede when your plants grow in front of it. However white would dominate.

Paint it dark grey. Darker fences/walls  make the garden seem bigger, it’s not like interior walls which close in on you when painted dark.

I'd go black, plants show up beautifully against a black background.

As the bed looks quite narrow, what about Euonymus Japonicus Green Rocket?  Will grow pretty much anywhere in any soil.  Growth is upright, gorgeous fresh green of new leaves, darker green of old leaves, gets to about 1m.  Dense enough to hide the wall, and will look quite striking against the fence.  Choisya Ternata Sundance another one - beautiful colour, nice scent, nice flowers, froths up into a dome shape, even when planted against a wall, dense enough to hide the white, will grow in partial shade and just be a bit more acid-green than yellow without full sun.  And it's evergreen.  And it'll look amazing set against the dark fence :)

Paint it dark grey/black, add climbers (you could add trellis in front if you like) and/or a hedge. Paint the fence same colour.

Halfway through painting you'll be like OH NO WHAT HAVE I DONE!!! But when it's finished it will look amazing and everyone will complement you on it.
