Is it safe to replant this palm tree?

    It's possible to do it, but logistically a bit tricky perhaps!

    OK maybe not as bad as that.. perhaps with enough manpower you can avoid having to use a crane on your specimen!

    Yes the tree is valuable, a specimen like that would cost hundreds of pounds if you wanted to buy one.

  • It can be moved. It’s a trachycarpus fortunei. I have moved a couple over the years, try to get a good rootball and then keep well watered in the new spot, they take a year or two to start growing again but seem to not mind being moved unlike some other species. 

    It will be really really heavy once dug up if you manage to keep a decent amount of rootball. So you will need some help to move it.
