my uncle just got a picture of this bird at his feeder.  he lives a mile from me.  i have never seen at my feeder or ever.  im going to ask what kind of feed he is using
  • I would love to entice more finches, greenfinch, bullfinch, chaffinch etc., We do hear masses of goldfinches but they are very shy of using our feeders despite having niger seed waiting for them.
Enthusiastic but impatient describes my level of gardening thus far

Very fond of blackbirds, they amuse me with their squabbling. I've seen one eating an apple, leaving it to chase off another approaching, meanwhile a third has gone in and nicked it!

I watched a magpie soak a crust of bread in a bird bath. When it was to his desired consistency, he flew off with it.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Does @Johnny canoe still post? He used to post some cracking bird wildlife pics.
  • Hello Dave and thanks so much asking after me. I have to get back into picture taking. Lot's of birds in my yard these days. Sparrows, Finches, Cow Birds, Red Wing Black Birds, Wax Wings, American Robin, Crows, Magpie, pigeons and I am hopping some Nuthatches and Chickadees will move onto my gourds that I grew and painted for them
