When to clear pond

    Who knows!
My pond is only a year old and has never gone sludgy, green or smelly.
    It is totally clear.
I’ve never taken out any fallen leaves (though I don’t get many).
All I’ve done is remove blanketweed and cut back last year’s dead wood on a purple loosestrife.
I also repotted it into a larger pot.
The article says to plant directly into pebbles without any pots, but my pond wasn’t large enough to get enough depth of pebble on the shelves, to keep the plants from floating off!
I think it works in my pond because it’s only in part shade and 3/4 of the surface is covered in floating oxygenaters starwort and marshflower.
I’m waiting for it to all go belly up in a few months’ time and to be proved completely wrong though 😁
