Gemma are you in this country, putting bits on planes, haha, all jokes aprt Hubby (being a bloke) loves everything to do with planes, he would have loved to have joined the RAF and become an engineer. Apartely just as he moved with his first wife he was offered a job on the trains, which he would have loved but the hours and commute wouldnt have worked. I also wouldnt have met him (after his marriage had ended) in a breakdown garage.
I'm in the UK, live in Essex. Had a PPL for a while, but I have an ongoing sinus issue that stopped me flying light planes. Shame because I loved doing it, OH hated it. I switched careers to work in ecology in my early forties, was always a passion and I drifted into consultancy after doing voluntary work. Now a full time carer for the OH.
Respec!!! Gemma, I have to say I hate flying, from the passenger point of view that is, always managed to avoid it, till I met second Hubby, people always think you are scared of crashing, its not that, I am severely claustrophobic, and as soon as they close the doors thats it., hyperventilating, sometimes I have been on the floor, none of the crew ever noticed, for years my old GP gave me diazepam. I also used to get dreadful earache, sometimes to the point of going deaf.I used to get dreadful sinusitus as well, perhaps thats why the flying made my ears to bad.I had acupuncture fot it, and it was brilliant. You have had a realy interesting life. I thought your post about Boris was so well written

That was my problem, the sinus thing set my left ear off, and I would get ear ache and headaches from all the pressure changes. So I would fly a couple times of week, then be in pain the other days. Never did get effective treatment, other than not flying. The diagnoses was TMJ which is something to do with having a wonky joint in my jaw, that means my sinus on the left side is much smaller than it should be and does not drain properly. Really didn't know I had a problem with it until I took up flying.
