Hail, sleet and snow here ... help yourself ...

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • I had to water all my pots yesterday as the tulips started getting limp because of the dry soil. Used up half a water butt of water.  If it stays like this for another week we probably will have to start watering borders as well. Definitely could do with some good warm spring rain here. Surrey.

The ground is very dry here too. We had a few spits of rain and a short hail shower yesterday, but not enough to wet the ground.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Been out and about in the garden and finding that the ground and pots are getting really dry!
After all the rain we had earlier in the year you would think it would be a tad damper!
I wish you hadn’t said this, I’m in Kent and I’ve had blasts of snow and hale all afternoon so I’m stuck indoors!

We got a bit of snow here in Essex just before lunchtime. Sun is out again now, so at the moment not too wet to get back to work on the veg plot tomorrow.
