Could do with a spot of rain........

Been out and about in the garden and finding that the ground and pots are getting really dry!
After all the rain we had earlier in the year you would think it would be a tad damper!

Sunny here today but the wind is brisk and cold!
No appreciable rain for 3 weeks now.
A few more days and I will have most of the clearing up jobs done so hopefully the rain will hold off till then.

I noticed the same, and was surprised to see the usual summer cracks forming in some of the more clay ridden beds already. Is it going to be like last year again where we just switch from 6 months of rain to 6 months of sun?

March winds. It's normal. It's when we don't get rain in April you need to worry

  • I was thinking we need a bit of rain. Can't believe how dry it is compared to 2-3 weeks ago. Herts/Beds border

Felt a bit crazy watering this early in the year, but the surface is drying and cracking on my lovely (read horrible) clay soil. With temps above freezing last night, I got the job done on Friday. Forecast says we may get a shower or two Sunday. Hopefully not too much as the veg plot is nice and workable right now. If I'm lucky I get about 3 weeks at this time of year where the clay is not too claggy and wet to work, soon after it will be baked like concrete.

Everything is dry and cracking here too. It's such a short window between flood and drought.

We had horrendous rain last night with really strong winds.  I am so glad I cleared our block paving of weeds yesterday and weeded the front garden as I dont think I will get much done today.  It is still very windy and it is trying to snow 🙄

We don't need any rain here dig down a bit the ground is wet best to let the roots find their own water, pots sometime need watering even when it has rained. No more rain here please you can have it all.
