@REMF33, try your local timber merchants, they will be much cheaper. I purchased 6 x 2m decking boards and an arris rail for about £40 a couple of months ago. They are much better quality than the ones at B & Q or Wickes and cheaper.

Wickes, huh, named and shamed on Facebook, ours is a devil to reach on a busy carriageway, check on line, wood for pergola this one, go in store, distance queue, for a very long time, nope NONE, ring later they will not go and check stock for you.  B & Q are the same grrrr

The plan is to go to Travis Perkins. B&Q and Wickes have lots of bare shelves anyway at the moment and our local ones are very small. I am also in London which seems to make a massive difference to price and availability in a negative way.
I tried to buy various other things in DIY shops yesterday, having checked first to see if they were in stock online. It seems Homebase don't update their database, or the staff just didn't know where things were. B&Q more helpful but only a relatively small shop. Have had to order one of the things I need online now.

Just found another local timber merchant. It's really hard to compare prices :o And to know what to get.
