Burn weeds etc if possible. The ash is good for the soil. If you have a lot of woody material then tucking it in piles under bushes and hedges makes great habitat.
For plastics you'll just need to crush everything down as small as possible and make sure it's clean so it doesn't stink.
Is ash actually good for the soil?
Looks like we’ll put the plastics through the dishwasher. Good job I just bought new recycle bin sheds...they’re gonna be full
Sorry to make clear it concentrates the salts that's were in the plants you have burnt. This means you should spread them around rather than plonking piles of ash about.

I could add it to the garden compost?
Sprinkling it in beds will likely be messy thought right? It’ll just blown away in the wind
You could try soaking all the 'nasty' weeds in a bucket of water until they rot. They'll be fine then to drain out and put into your compost bin. Did the Council give a reason why the collections have been suspended, too many workers off ill or the 2 metre rule?
Fair enough. I can compost a lot of the green bin stuff if I make the effort, but we'd be stuck with the household waste and the recycling. Not surprisingly the recycling centres are also closed.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
Bath is also not collecting garden waste from this week, and may not collect recycling stuff as well if they run short on staff. They do say we won't lose out on money paid already.
Do yours not wear big industrial gloves @Lyn? Our services are being amended- from tomorrow it's the last brown [garden waste] collection, and no further blue [paper] collections, and then the grey [general waste] and green [plastic/cans] on alternating weeks for the foreseeable. Food waste can go in the general waste for hose without a compost bin.
Makes sense.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Heard a noise outside this morning and ran out just in time to hand the garden waste to the collection team.
Officially it’s definitely cancelled:
