Loch Awe is rather bonny, and has some of our very finest hills alongside. The Dalmally Horseshoe. You can actually see them from that hill too. I did - in all their snowy coatsÂ
I've spent many days in horizontal rain on hills, so I'm a bit choosier now. Doesn't always work, but when it does, it's enriching for the soul. I can see the Arrochar hills, Ben Lomond and one or two others from the road nearby, weather permitting. The Arrochar hills are about 75 mins drive away, so they're my local ones, but out of bounds for now.Â
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Don't be taken in by fairygirl's fake Scottish accent - I think she's really a closet southerner. Probably from Bognor or some such. There's a known term for the mental condition of people pretending to be Scottish - I think from recollection that Mel Gibson had it as well...but don't quote me on that.
C'mon everyone know that Bill is a scouser. What is it with the Scots that they have to claim everyone famous as their own? Next someone will be saying that Andy Murray is Scottish - and we all know he's as English as that Greg tennis player bloke. And Andy is a typically English name - Andy Capp was even in the papers - probably that's where Murray's parents first saw the name...

Well that's done it... she'll now pop up with some feigned indignation and flashing her birth certificate or similar. Don't be fooled still - anyone can fake a photo or a document. Only settle for a full DNA test...
Well @steveTu- that's you off the Christmas card listÂ
It's a fair cop guv, I'm part English...the rubbish part....
My lovely old Dad was from London @dappledshade, but spent most of his life up here after meeting my Mum while on tour [he was a musician] in the forties.Â
