Kings seeds are still open for business, although they say that understandably there may be a delay in processing orders. I ordered some plants from Yougarden yesterday, and also contacted suppliers that l have existing orders with. I said that as l wasn't going anywhere, as soon as the plants were ready to go l would accept them straight away. Two have already got back to me to say they will despatch ASAP .
I ordered a few seeds - the usual things I get @Nollie - and they come by Royal Mail, so I'm not clogging up delivery vans here either. We're very good , aren't we? A lot of seed suppliers are on hold though. Difficult for them too. I don't think my order's going to keep them afloat either...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just had a stocktake and It's not great news but could be worse. I've got 2 and a half bags of multipurpose and one bag of JI2. It's enough for about half the jobs I need compost for so tough decisions will have to be made. I'm going to have a dig about in the compost bins later and see how the home made stuff is looking. My regular nursery is taking phone orders but their website suggests they're struggling to cope with demand so I won't bother them at the moment.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I have no compost, manure or grit. I tried my commercial supplier of builders bags of the stuff, thinking they might have slow business and their open pick-up truck/crane combo probably can’t be re-purposed. No luck, only delivering to commercial food growers. Fairy nuff. Assuming my chitting spuds arrive (ordered pre-crisis) ever arrive, I will be using half-rotted homemade compost to earth them up and crossing my fingers.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
