A cooler grey day today as advised by the meteorologists.  Ante I hope your weather improves.  Chives I’ve not seen Henning Wehn I will look out for him.  LB and Topbird it’s sesnsible for the VE/VJ celebrations to be put back to August.  Everything crossed for all.

    Yoohoo - hello Yvie👋

Another border weeded and cut back. One more big one to do out back. OH has rubbed down shed so I'll paint that later in the week.

Friend across the way asked me to go over to look at how she'd pruned her roses. She's in the vulnerable group so I agreed - but rather reluctantly. Had to keep reminding her to stand away while I was tidying up the roses. Think she wanted someone to chat to as much as anything. It will be easier when it's warm enough for her to be outside for an extended period and she can say hello to passers by over the garden fence.

Sorry to hear you won't receive any financial help Debs. Is there a bit of overtime going for you if you want it?

Just a thought - is it worth your fiance getting in touch with local care homes, local hospital(s) etc to let them know a trained chef could come in at short notice if their own cook goes sick?

It has been a fine day here  although seems much cooler.  Mid afternoon it got extremely windy with rain showers.

Before the weather turned, I weeded the front garden and cleaned the block paving which goes up the side of the house.

So far we are still getting bin collections. It is recycling and garden waste bins this week.  I am hoping they get collected as both are full.

Hello PurpleRose welcome.  It’s been quite a cooler day here too.  We are also getting bin collections thankfully.  Stay well and safe.  I’ve just made a light dinner and having a cup of tea and watching the news to keep updated.  Topbird some good ideas.  I hope these help Debs.  I hope things improve for your oh.

Afties all. Well the chill wind finally put a stop to my pottering in the garden. SGL, I love your prose and picture! Classic! Debs, you are right about the positivity. I'm so sorry for your fiancé. It is going to be a trying time but good to hear that Maisie and her Step Dad are recovering. Ante, those are some of the most beautiful places in the UK.
Lovely to see you @Yviestevie and @PurpleRose. I hope that you and your families are all well and staying safe in these difficult times

Topbird that’s a good idea but of course as he is a type one diabetes in a way I am glad to have him home I just worry that my contact with sick people is putting him at risk but what can I do? I think you are right that neighbour wanted company my heart goes out to people stuck in their own homes alone.
Chey I posted those a while ago but glad they finally arrived maybe post is a bit erratic?
Too cold here to garden but maybe tomorrow.

@Songbird-1 I'm fine now thank you.  If it wasn't for the fact that it started in October I'd swear it was the dreaded Covid19.  Exactly the same symptoms.

A very good morning to one and all. Its official - the start of British Summer Time. Lily has been working on it all year! Well I have no idea what happened to the picture I posted last night. It happens occasionally. I wonder how many of us will have forgotten to alter at least one of our clocks that have to be manually adjusted.
