It's awfully early though, isn't it?

The previous occupants of our house recently received a bonus cheque SIX years after they moved leaving no forwarding address.
We have returned countless letters but strangely nothing of a personal nature.
  • We recently received a phone call from the bank trying to contact the previous occupant of our house. We've lived here for 23 years!

We don't get junk mail.  The post lady screens it for us so we only get local stuff
Unfortunately Royal Mail staff in the UK can't do that.  They are legally obliged to deliver mail - including all the additional junk stuff.

Yes - you have to get the sign fro the front door to stop it going through, but the posties still have to carry it. I've noticed we've had less though.
My current curmudgeonliness is people on a thread about compost alternatives who can't, or won't, understand about unnecessary journeys, and are getting personal about it.

We put the relevant sticker on our mail box when we moved in and she questioned it to ask if we wanted specifically local stuff to be delivered but not the rest.  Works for us.

Would you Adam and Eve it?  Last night about 2am I heard manic laughter in the street.  This morning, about 50 car owners found their tyres slashed.  The police have two young men in custody.

That's hellish @josusa47. At least they have them. Hopefully, they can be prosecuted.
I read earlier about  a junior doctor having the same, when he was about to go back to work. Police there apparently aren't interested....
Despicable doesn't even begin to cover it.  >:)

Just had a minor fiasco with our water supplier - Southeast Water. Card through the door asking for a meter reading as not entering homes due to coronavirus. Fair enough. Now the meter is supposed to be capable of being read from outside the property but the batteries all went flat soon after the meters were fitted a few years ago and they won't replace them. So submitted an online reading and 5 minutes later they phoned to get us to give them a reading over the phone. They only got our phone number because you had to supply it to give an online reading!
