None of this is an exact science, and quite a lot is being made up as we go. The idea is to minimise time away from your house. The next step could be a total lockdown, as in China and some parts of Italy.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I'm not sure @josusa47 but my perception is that we are being reined in gradually (maybe to avoid uproar and riots) with simple instructions. Unfortunately the instructions are so simple they are causing confusion to the questioning amongst us. It seems to be a bit like the '5 a day' thing - what does that mean? Easy to remember but not enough information.
Plus I imagine many of the directives are based on best guess, risk assessments so maybe many trips out for excercise is more risky if the people don't always wash their hands and change their clothes on their return? Don't know.
Edited to say: Thank you @punkdoc you have been a beacon of light during my isolation and made me feel it is worthwhile despite the difficulties.
"The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it." Sir Terry Pratchett
I'll echo that too. @punkdoc has enough to deal with regarding his own health, and it's a bit depressing to see how many are blatantly ignoring advice instead of being sensible. Look at these ****s having a barbecue
I'm now hoping torrential rain arrives for a month. Perhaps that'll keep them inside, although I wouldn't bet on it...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Presumably the one period of outside exercise per day is to reduce the total number of people out and about at any one time. If you have to walk to the shops would that count as your one period of exercise?
What parallel universe does Donald Trump live in? According to news reports "He hopes the US will shake the pandemic off by Easter". That's 2 weeks away! His chief medical officer says it's always a risk telling Trump something he doesn't want to hear.
I'm not sure that is the right way to be looking at the directives @KT53, it is necessary to minimise contact so if it is important you go out do so keeping all contact to a minimum, if you don't need to go out then don't.

Trump is hoping to ‘appear devout’ by getting enthusiastic about Easter and thus suck up to the powerful religious lobby for the presidential election. That’s all he cares about.
