@Marlorena yeah it is a bit pinkish but when I have seen pictures the flowers do get a bit of pink when just opening so seems normal even if mine has bit more cause of extra heat as you say.
The leaves are dull green, and while I wouldn't call them especially attractive, I find them interesting: different shapes of leaves on the same plant, some divided and some simple. Makes it easy to identify the plants, anyway.
Thank you! Yes I’ve found a few pics on google now that seem to show variation in leaf in a single plant. It just threw me as there’s are two main stems both withdifferent shaped leaves. As opposed to one shape low down and another’s higher up.
How odd! I won’t go tearing it in half anyway!
Ive planted it near Lady of Shalott as I think the red flowers will go nicely with her orangey colour
I am beginning to favour the single, open-style roses, more and more seem to making it into my basket, but I still love the occasional romantic flamboyance of the multi-petal type.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
My roses might be weeks behind, but my goodness, my peony must be enjoying life. I have had it in the same pot for 20 years, always kept it fed and watered, and it has always produced strong healthy foliage, but I've never known it to produce more than two flowers. This year I've counted ten buds. There are six which are well developed and should hopefully produce flowers. And the only thing I've done differently to previous years is add pelleted chicken manure. Makes you wonder.
The name has been lost in the mists of time I'm afraid, but it is a stunning creamy white, fully double with a dash of pinky red on a number of petals. The flowering only lasts 2-3 weeks, but the healthy, glossy foliage stays healthy and glossy all Summer, and is a perfect foil for other plants and flowers. I've added a photo from last year.
