    @poppyfield64,

    I had  tess of the d'urbervilles  in pot and she looked beautiful against white wall. I cant say how she compares with other roses as i didn't have many types, but i liked her.

    Cant find any photos on my phone from when i had it against wall but this photo from da site gives an idea.

    @Aero84 your Annapurna rose is lovely. I've seen it online but the commercial photos are usually plain white. The primrose and pink tones are very pretty. I also love Chandos Beauty. Lots of folks on here seem to have it and every photo I see of it is always very attractive indeed! A couple more for the list...

    @iaincd thank you. I did think that it would be pure white based on the photos I found during a quick google at the garden centre but it’s a lot more white than another rose which I bought as a white rose and arrived very pink! 🤣

    @newbie77.....thank you.  She looks very striking!!  Did you get much fragrance from her?

    Emily Brontë is really rather lovely. I'm quite taken with her and wasn't particularly expecting to be!

    First Lady of Shallot flower 😁 striking colours

    Oh, also while I’m here. A while back I got a plant order delivered and I posted a photo of my Knautica Macedonia because it looked odd. With one shoot having different shaped leaves. But then found photos online that looked similar so thought maybe it was just the way it grew.

    Well the stem with different leaves flowered first and was pale pink. Then the rest of the plant is starting to flower crimson so definitely was two plants in the same pot!

    I’m still hankering after The Eye of the Storm @edhelka, looks a lovely bushy plant and fab colour. I’m getting tired of roses with sparse foliage and/or defoliate rapidly with BS  - another reason LD Braithwaite is getting dumped- so do let me know how it does for you. May have to break my ‘only one supplier from the UK’ (because of postage costs) rule for that one!

    @Katsa, ‘old ladies toilet’ made me laugh, my OH insists The Prince smells like cat pee 😆. Proper Job looks lovely. As to recommending a climbing rose, I don’t have many and not experienced enough to give one really, but will have a think. The fragrant and disease resistant combo is always tricky.

    Right @Katsa, had a think over breakfast! You have a lot of pink/red and a lot of double blooms, so why not go for something completely different, say a single or semi-double flowered yellow? That came to mind as I am considering a lemon yellow climber for outside my kitchen window to brighten up what is otherwise a plain green vista. I would want something that is a good bloomer, good fragrance too so it would waft in on summer days. Haven’t really researched it yet, but did come across a yellow by Chris Warner called Gardener’s Glory  - I have his Warm Welcome, healthy and never stops blooming from top to bottom. Don’t know how fragrant it really is, though:
