@edhelka - Gabriel Oak is absolutely stunning! Is it a good pot rose?
I have it in a pot at the moment and it grows well. I plan to plant it in the ground in autumn/winter. It's a vigorous rose but controllable, DA recommends it for pots.
@Ffoxglove hi there, your photo of fragrant cloud is quite a different colour to mine. The one I have is a dark coral to light red colour. But the smell is out of this world. Valerie
@Pianoplayer It’s looking very healthy, I’m sure you’ll get some good growth as it gets better established. Rose sawfly here too 😖
@edhelka What a rose, this one is definitely on my wish list.
@Katsa My CdC was just like that in the first year, lots of horrible balling. This year it’s so much better despite the weather so perhaps it’s a common problem for it early on.
That Gabriel Oak is something special, amazing structure to the flowers, and the warmer glowing shades of deep pink in the middle.
Yes, it is. The centres are warm deep pink, almost red. The outer petals are much colder, sometimes almost lilac. The whole bloom fades to a more uniform colder deep pink colour.
There's strong fruity fragrance, can be weather dependant but really good when it's there.
Purple Lodge, opening and partially opened. Unfortunately, the inner petals started to rot afterwards (we've been getting rain and humidity over 80% every day, and also warmth... blackspot is coming).
Reine des Violettes
Eye of the Storm
Super Excelsa. I expected deep pink but it's really a red rose, more red than pink.
Lovely to catch up with everyone’s beautiful roses. @edhelka, your purple roses are glorious. I’ve only recently got into growing roses after years without a single one in the garden. Here’s a few of mine.

Mum in a million, has a fabulous scent.
First flower on Gabriel Oak. This was a bare root I planted in March, if it turns out as well as @Marlorena’s I will be very happy😊

I've had a whole bunch of rose buds appear to rot off - is this because of the strange weather we're having or is there something else wrong?
This is Comte de Chambord and you can see how the buds appear to be brown and rotting:
Other roses are starting to bloom:
Comtesse Marie-Henriette (Kordes Parfuma collection)
Raymond Blanc
Which is being very slow to flower ...
Papworth's Pride (Beales)

I've been busy at the allotment all day so only just saw the posts about it.
