Thanks @Lizzie27. The cold is slightly retreating now, I think.

The downside is it’s French Club this afternoon so I had better learn some never used before vocabulary. What’s “lateral flow” in French?

I feel so upset about this,  I fear for my son who has to battle through all this lot with his van, delivering,  it was bad enough last year, even worse this year.
And the abuse the hospitality staff have had to put up with,  no wonder no one wants to take those jobs.
I’ll  be glad when Emmet season’s over.

It's funny how most of the people who usually holiday abroad can't seem to think of a single other place to go in the UK other than Cornwall. I love Cornwall, but no way I'd go during the school hols, even in non-Covid times.

Re @Lyn's comments - this item I read yesterday tells you all you need to know about the 'human' race....

Scum. We get them up here too. The sooner they go back to their manky holidays in Benidorm or wherever, the better.

They’re all down here because last year they thought we didn’t have COVID, hardly any cases so people thought it the safest place to come.
they booked there and then  thinking  it would be the same this year,  problem is that they’ll probably take it back to their own areas.
I remember the hospitality owners last year saying they’d got more bookings for this year than ever before.  Then even more came down with their own accommodation, those huge great big camper vans.

Not much trouble with tourists around here🤔
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Did you see the disgusting rubbish left by the Reading festival, why don't they make everyone there clear up something on leaving the site. There was a number of positive lateral flow tests amongst the debris. Have noticed every time I go shopping less and less people wear masks. Haven't had a cold for donkeys years.

I was at my sister's place in North Wales at the weekend. Mask-wearing in shops etc. is still mandatory there (except people who are exempt) and it really showed up how many people here aren't bothering any more.
