The standard of education, particularly in the sciences, in the western world, must be abysmal nowadays.

How else could such complete poppycock and claptrap be considered credible by anyone other than those with only the most basic schooling?

The conspiracy theories that are being spun to the credulous are on a par with the belief in black magic from the Middle Ages.  It’s pathetic and shameful 😭

And dangerous, too, @Dovefromabove.  How are we going to get the better of Covid worldwide if a significant proportion of those in the West aren't going to get vaccinated because they believe this ridiculous rubbish?

Totally agree @Liriodendron ... a headlong rush back to superstition and isolationism. “How are the mighty fallen.”

If the credulous don't get vaccinated, and Darwin got it right, things will sort themselves out -  as they do.
Also, if some countries ban the AZ , there's more for everyone else.I

I would be interested to see how many bad reactions people have from aspirin, paracetamol, ibuprofen, Imodium, st John's Wort, cod liver oil, multivitamins and whatever over the counter medicines in comparison to AZ.

Don't actually know with certainty how widespread the belief is in the USA.  I stated it was MY position.  I've read that nearly 50% of our military do not want to take the "vaccine";  around 40% of the general population are hesitant.  I've never been anti-vax before in my life.  I have taken all required health vaccinations, and many more than a lot of people as I was raised in a military family that lived in the Middle East (age 12).  Had to get about 15 vaccinations for that relocation.  I have also taken the properly animal and human trialed regular flu shots yearly since I turned 55.  But I will not let anybody inject me with something that alters my RNA/DNA cell messaging system.  Our DNA is what makes us human.  They've never used RNA messaging coding in vaccines, so as far as I'm concerned, the makers and those pushing these shots actually have no earthly idea what the immediate or downstream results will be.  Like I said, I will not let them jab me unless it is done forcibly.  They are using a "let's watch and see what happens" approach (under the guise of emergency, for a disease that has less than 2% chance of killing me) and I'm not willing to take that risk along with them.  It just makes that scenario worse that the pharmaceutical houses cannot be held accountable in the courts if they rushed it to the public too soon, without proper animal and human trials and end up saying "Oops, we didn't get it right.  Sorry".  I'm just not liking the number of bizzarre reactions and deaths after vaccines being reported in many nations.

I have had both my vaccines now. Pfizer. I am not at all worried about catching Covid but I want my life back to normal. That won’t happen if people don’t get vaccinated and I cannot continue to live this way indefinitely. If you don’t want the vaccine don’t have it but don’t expect me or anyone else to alter our lifestyle for you. If you choose not to be vaccinated on your head be it.

Surely in the USA medical treatment is expensive? I think take up in the UK is good the lady who did mine yesterday said they are on the 40plus group now. She thanked me for getting the vaccine when she could see I was very anxious, I have a phobia of needles but just concentrated on a photo of my newest grandson on my phone and thought about a summer of unlimited cuddles and visits.
In the USA and Europe if people pay for medical care they may think again once they see how expensive it is to catch Covid.

The risks from blood clots is higher when taking the contraceptive pill than from the AZ jab.

It is more dangerous to drive 250 miles in a car than to have the AZ jab.
