The virus is successful because most people don’t get unwell, yet they spread it. This is why we are in a mess.  I wonder if we had Ebola doing the rounds, then people might be more inclined to stay indoors and not see anyone??

High five (no touching) to your daughter @Balgay.Hill from a fellow NHS’er.

I'm glad I don't have any school age children. If I did, I think I'd wait until the government has stopped spinning and u-turning. They could fine me if they liked.
How can they formulate a strategy when they're dizzy?😵

My daughter went in early from her holiday to hospital today, and i've just talked to her. She works in a team of 10, and 7 were sent home to isolate as they had been working on a patient that had the virus, and somehow came into aerosol contact with them. From tomorrow, 3 will be doing what 10 did today. This is happening all over.

  • We are in pretty much in lock down anyway.dont see what else he can do.the people who haven't been following the rules won't suddenly listen.im wondering whether or not to see my mum and dad..in my bubble but that seems meaningless.your only as good as the other person in it.i.e.if they see other people.

I thought Boris made a strong speech tonight.

The lockdown, the advice and the vaccine is all about damage limitation now. We need to reduce hospitalisations. - that is goal one.

Thank goodness for that ... but once again he’s shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted ... if only he’d had the balls to announce a lockdown a few weeks ago instead of promising to relax the rules for Christmas. Oh well ... Groundhog Day  ... again ...

It doesn't matter what restrictions the government - national or local - imposes to control the spread or when they do it if people are not prepared to follow the rules.

I'm constantly amazed at the sight of so many people on the news, filmed in towns and not wearing masks, not keeping their distance and, probably, not washing their hands and surfaces as often or as well as they should to stop the spread of this disease.   Add to that the reports of people having parties, gatherings, travelling without thought or preparation and leaving unspeakable messes and more infections in their wake and you have to wonder just what will it take to make people see sense?

  • Yes he should have done, but as @Songbird-1 says he's done it now....thank goodness.
Although we weren't going anywhere anyway.
Let's hope everyone abides by the rules and Stays home.
    Take care everyone
