  • Amazed to see female GP in her 50s, at the XR protest, I hope she walked from Cornwall to take part.  I used to go swimming on a Thursday morning, (over 60s session) haven't been since March what are the rules concerning this, are you allowed to use indoor pools?

My 73 year old MIL is back using the gym and pool in West Sussex, because the gov't told her it was safe.  Forget that she's had her heart restarted twice due to irregular rhythm and being on a heart medication.  We have far less cases in my community, and I have refused to resume our boys swimming lessons that got cut short in March due to closure.

  • A friend's  Husband, fit healthy bloke, outdoor lifestyle, had a cardiac arrest in his Gym, (not covid related) last year, amazingly, there were 3 Drs, there ,and one a cardiac surgeon, he's had a couple of ops,one during lockdown.Doing well, Right place, right time.  If you have any health issues, you have to risk assess yourself, commonsense.  A lot of my friends who were over 70 (some WELL over)went out for walks while they were meant to shield.  They desided it was better for their mental or physical health to do so,although technically they weren't meant to.  They stayed well away from others, one walked their dog, really bad arthritus, and would seize up otherwise

My fear is the NHS is becoming a one disease organisation.

Certainly not happening at the moment ... a family member had very worrying symptoms a week ago today ... he’s had an colonoscopy, a discussion with a consultant and a full body scan already ... he’s amazed and feels in very safe hands.

Well, not in that particular instance and that's great he's got sorted but sadly I've read other stories of cancelled appointments, missed treatment and preventable worsening of treatable illnesses. I've discovered myself that getting GP and especially dental appointments is getting increasingly difficult.

Whilst jumping through the hoops to get a flu jab - I gave up -  I was wondering how people even less computer savvy than me are managing to access gp services. How do elderly people with no smart phone and no idea about the internet survive? They don't.
