She will be paying for a private scan at 20 weeks to determine sex and Dad can go to that but this is a much awaited first baby and it seems mean to exclude Dad who is desperately excited to see his little one. If room is very small I suppose it makes sense but it seems a shame.
It is definitely a shame, but it certainly won't be done with the intention of being mean.

Steroid injections into a joint, are not the same as steroids given systemically.
Also what was said, was either misunderstood, or was sadly untrue. Some cases of sepsis are due to an uncontrolled immune reaction, but others are caused by a failure of the body to mount an adequate immune response.
Both extremes can lead to a poor outcome
How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

  • I may not have explained that very well but, that's the gist of it . If your on immune suppressants the latest research ( according to the wifes consultant) means your immune system wont kick into overdrive and kill you. You may die of other complications possibly but not from your Immune system flooding your body as its suppressed by the treatment your on.

The Spanish Flu of 1918 mostly killed young adults, while children and old people were more likely to survive because of their weaker immune system, so a similar situation.

I heard that older people were less likely to die from Spanish Flu as they had been exposed to Russian Flu some years before? Not sure if that is correct.

Face coverings aren’t compulsory in Wales (the government think the evidence is weak) so it was an interesting social experiment at the SM today - I reckon nearly half of shoppers had a mask on anyway. One went full gloves, respirator mask and visor, but there will always be extremes I suppose. Maybe she was immunosuppressed, or just a bit bonkers.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

I would rather wear full body armour than risk covid-19. And be blowed what anyone thought of me.  Good for her getting out! Brave lady.

Interesting that face covering not mandatory in Wales, I reckon about 50% of people in SM were wearing masks if you don’t count how many had them under their nose, hanging off one ear etc but nobody commented on people not wearing them at all or wearing them incorrectly. When I went to GC nobody was wearing them at all, either outside in the plant display area or in the cafe. Back to work Monday will be interesting to see how it works in bus station as everyone usually takes their mask off as they step off the bus.

Well, we've all been certain for some time that the governmental left hand doesn't know what its right hand is doing, but now proof that it's even worse and the right hand doesn't know what it is doing itself!

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
