No sign of any frogspawn yet up here ... but the hedgehogs are eating us out of house and home
I checked on my wee hibernating Spikey yesterday: he's still there and the twitched a wee bit as I rummaged gently to see if he was still there.

Glad to say that I've got frogspawn in my pond - beginning to think they didn't fancy each other! Only arrived on Tuesday (23/03) not there at the weekend - quite late compared to others.

Mine have already hatched, the pond is bubbling with them.

The last of our batches was deposited today. We had about 4 or 5 pairs mating I think. This year has been outstanding in terms of quantity, last year we only had a single female. Looking forward to lots of tadpoles.
  • I think the frost proofing worked lots of tadpoles munching on the algae. The pictures are very poor ☺️ But the black mass is all tadpoles.
