Looking good Obelixx.  Sunny but cold and very windy today.  Have lit the fire and will not be venturing anywhere, a nice restful day looking at plant porn, watching a bit of TV and reading is the order of the day.  Still worried whether I've made the right decision regarding taking the trees down.  Went to tell the neighbours that the tree surgeon is coming on Tues, so they could move their cars etc. and two out of three told me they were putting their houses on the market.  Wonder if its something I said.

Half of France has a yellow weather warning out today and another quarter, over towards the east has an orange warning for very strong winds later on and into tomorrow.    Good day for hibernating.

Down-sizing @Yviestevie ?  Moving nearer family?  Spring is supposed to be the best time to sell a home so it goes thru in time for the new school year.

I've done my plant porn and ordered mostly veggie seeds form Chilterns - things I can't find here like purple sprouting and cavolo nero.  Done all my admin now too so I'm off to sew.  OH has nabbed the TV for endless golf.

Had fab coffee and chocolate cake to our GC Potato Day this morning but our inclination to walk there and back was thwarted by torrential rain/hail so took the car. Bought Charlotte and Jazzy - both 2nd earlies, in order to compare the taste. Not tried Jazzy before. It was a good turnout, although we met a friend who had met a friend earlier who had just returned from a skiing holiday in North Italy! I don't think I'm worried...…

a lovely transformation @Obelixx, you must have worked very hard.

I arrived safely at Stansted and OH was waiting to drive me to Norfolk. Stopped at Sainsburys in Thetford on the way home. Looking forward to Hot Cross Buns for breakfast. Daffodils that I planted in the autumn were out in the front garden. Haven't seen the back yet.

Lovely kitchen @Obelixx, your cooker looks like mine except mine has a gas hob, I love it. In Norfolk it has a glass electric hob and isn't the same make.

  • Glad you’re both safely in the cottage @Busy-Lizzie 😊. Let’s hope the weather becomes a bit more springlike soon.

Time  for bed now, so sleep tight everyone 😴

I forwarded the dry ice article to our son, Hosta.
His reaction - I guess high school science isn’t compulsory in Russia.
This old girl didn’t have science at school either. 😳🙄. Thanks for posting it.

Thank you @Pat E.   @Busy-Lizzie the oven is a Rangemaster - Falcon in France - and does have a gas hob but also a glass lid which cuts off the gas supply so small people can't turn it on by mistake if they play with the knobs.  I love mine too which is why I brought it with me from Belgium.   Great for cooking for crowds.

We've just got in from dancing - soirée organised to support an orphanage in Togo.   Very funny watching everyone ask if they were OK with the usual 2 kiss greeting or preferred to keep a distance.   Had a good time but tired now so off to bed.

Sweet dreams all.  Stay safe.   Stormy out there now.
