Must admit I now prefer more open roses which are better for pollinators.

I find Silas Marner quite unique, of course its colour isn't, but the other characteristics don't remind me any other DA shrub rose. They don't have many cluster flowering and arching roses. It reminds me Scarborough Fair a bit but I don't think it has similar genetics. It also reminds me some climbers and ramblers. I think I will buy it but not sure yet :)
The Country Parson is also somewhat unique as a spinosissima but the blooms don't excite me.

I am also disappointed that there are only two... seems like a new norm now. Also, introducing one pink and yellow is getting boring. I would love something mauve or red/purple or even white. Or something a bit more exciting and unusual, this feels like they are stuck in their breeding.

Well I can't resist... I shall be getting both... but just a reminder... they usually have discounts early March, so I won't be ordering before then... otherwise we will pay full price if we order now...

Just a suggestion, but I think before too long, we shall have to start a new thread for the rose season, for us rosy folks...  as I did last year's I shall leave it to one of you to start this year, whenever you feel it's appropriate, if you want to that is......  half of my garden is out of bounds waiting for a new fence, so I won't have much to show for some time...

I’ll start one as soon as I’ve got an update to post. Unless someone beats me to it!

I swore I wasn't going to get any more roses but I’m feeling an itch and looking at the garden seeing where some could go. Maybe I’ll get some for pots.

I’m not sure if either of these two would make the cut though.

I'm going to plant a mass of Moonlight this year. I can't wait.

    I planted 4 Gentle Hermione in 2018.
A beautiful rose but I found the colour starts to fade to cream as soon as they're open and within a couple of days the blooms look almost white.
Hopefully they just need to settle in a bit

I was waiting for new roses too.  I missed Gabriel Oak from my previous order. I ordered two Thomas a becket instead of one Gabriel oak and one Thomas a becket. So now I was thinking may be I can order one the new roses along with Gabriel Oak but they dont look very different to the ones I have. so may be I stay happy with Thomas a becket and forget about Gabriel Oak.

How different is Gabriel Oak from Thomas a becket or Young Lycida ?

They are all very different but Gabriel Oak should be first in your queue... not last...

Neither of these excites me particularly. I did decide I liked Gabriel Oak, but have more than enough roses for my new border now...

How about Wild Eric and Tottering by Gently (love that name).  Does anyone know those?   Looking for open flowers with good perfume and healthy growth.
