@Yviestevie I was considering doing some lawn similarly to yours circles...... How much of a pain are they to mow??
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Yviestevie's lawn edges are so neat I would not be surprised to hear that nail scissors are involved!

Not a problem at all @London_to_Latimer I just juse an ordinary electric lawnmower.  I use edging shears to neaten it up, no nail scissor involved @Loxley :D I've never liked straight edges in gardens.  I like the borders to be semi-controlled chaos but I love a nice lawn.

Those perfect circles of lawn are a great foil to the planting, they're doing a similar job to a piece of topiary. I love it (although I don't think I would have the patience for it).

@Chrissy the gardener is that a Canna in the third pic (on page 96)? It's stunning, and I'm a sucker for a bit of decorative foliage 😀

Thanks for all the amazing pics everyone. I'll try get around this evening and get a few snaps of my new garden to share
  • Hi Davewalsh29 yes it’s a canna but I can’t remember which one, I love cannas for their decretive leaves. I’ve got some dark leaved ones as well which look like the ornamental banana.
